The Grand Plague is a multiplayer modification for Serious Sam: The Second Encounter 1.07, based on the Zombie Plague 4.3 mod for Counter Strike 1.6. In addition to the alien forces of Mental attacking humanity, unlucky survivors also face the fallout of top-secret military experiments, such as the H-virus. This virus was being used to create an army of super-soldiers, but was never perfected. The final H-subtype is highly contagious and spreads rapidly through airborne transmission, but its side effects are unpredictable — meaning infection can lead to vastly different outcomes. You are deployed as part of a special unit tasked with containing and eliminating the source of the infection. Fortunately, the virus dies quickly in open air and doesn't spread over long distances. However, no one has the faintest idea how this operation might end... The game is divided into rounds. At the start of each round, all players begin as healthy humans. Ten seconds in, one of several game scenarios is selected, and infection spreads. Each scenario has different conditions, but the goal is always the same: wipe out the enemy team. Scenarios: Basic Infection — one player is randomly turned into a zombie. Their goal: infect all humans. The humans' goal: survive. Versus — half the players become non-contagious zombies. The goal for both teams is to destroy the enemy. Nemesis — one player transforms into a horrifying monstrosity known as the Nemesis, whose sole purpose is to DESTROY EVERYTHING!! On the humans' side, a Survivor is spawned — a hero capable of taking on the Nemesis. Their mission: put the abomination down for good. Power Versus — a bonus round where half the players become Nemeses and the other half become Survivors. Survivor vs All — one player becomes the Survivor while every other player turns into various types of zombies. Deadborn — a rare scenario where no players become zombies. Instead, everyone must fight a computer AI boss: Deadborn and his minions. Features & Bonuses After every zombie kill or infection, you earn credits. Credits can be spent on a variety of useful items, such as weapons (you'll have a tough time without them), weapon upgrades (no reload, unlimited ammo, etc.), player bonuses (temporary protection), and much more. The mod also features several commands you can send to your teammates, all accessible through the menu. The server host is considered the admin. The admin has full control over the game via the in-game menu. Gifts — objects that spawn each round. They can grant you a powerful, game-turning bonus — or deliver a devastating negative effect. Headshots. The mod also includes Double Kill, Multi-Kill, Killing Spree, and other announcer voice packs. You can choose between a male or female voice.
